Bluefield, WV- Carolina University Baseball battled Friday and Saturday afternoon against Bluefield State University. This Bruins lost all 3 games in the series and could not best the Big Blue. The Bruins lost 7-11, 1-4, and 7-8, making 3 very close games.
Game 1Â
In game 1 of the series, the Blue and Gold were able to go on a run in the top of the 7th scoring 4 runs. But were unable to overcome BSU as they created a lead the Bruins could not come back from.Â
To start the series, Tanner Bray and Avery Adams both had doubles. Alejandro Rodriguez and Elias Nurideen led with 2 RBIs each.Â
Game 2
The 2nd game in the series was 7 innings and had a final score of 1-4. Bruins' only run was scored in the 2nd by Paxton Tucker aided by a single from Jase Brooks.Â
Pitching for the Bruins was Adam Conrad tallying 4 strike outs in 7 innings.Â
Game 3
The final game in the series was a hard-fought battle the Bruins came up short by 1 run and finished in 7 innings. The Blue and Gold scored 5 out of their 7 runs in the top of the 3rd. Rodriguez tripled to center field, followed by a double to center field from Bryan Deegan. Paxton Tucker was next up to the plate and offered another triple to right field. The Bruins ended the inning with a single from Avery Adams.Â
Deegan and Adams led with 2 RBIs each.
Up NextÂ
The Bruins will be away Wednesday to battle the Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett College.
