Marietta, GA- Carolina University Men's Volleyball took a road trip to Georgia this weekend, playing at Reinhardt University on Friday night, then two matches Saturday at Life University against the home team and fellow visitors Morehouse College.
On Friday at 6 pm Carolina University battled Reinhardt University for the first game of the trip. The Bruins lost by 3, but not without a fight. The kill leaders from the match were Austin Jeter with 8 and Bryson Abernathy with 6. Defensively Jeter led with 6 digs for the Blue and Gold and Mason Kenna followed with 5.
In game two starting Saturday at 12, Carolina University played the Eagles of Life University. The Bruins were able to claim 1 set against the Eagles, defensively the Blue and Gold held their own. Jacob Brown had a staggering 7 blocks against the Eagles, and Jeter tallied 4 himself. Away from the net Hollifield had 8 digs for the Bruins and Bryson Abernathy led with 7 kills.
In game three of the tri-match, against Morehouse College. The Blue and Gold swept the Tigers in 3 short sets. In the 3 sets the Bruins tallied 8 service aces, Hollifield led with 4 of his own. Hollifield led Saturday's offense earning 29 assists. Kill leaders were Bryson Abernathy 9 and Mason Kenna with 8. Libero Carson Pearce kept the back row settled and tallied 10 digs for the Bruins.
