Mocksville, NC- Carolina University Baseball battled at home for a 3 part series starting Friday night and ending Saturday afternoon against the Screaming Eagles of Toccoa Falls. Baseball also celebrated senior night and honored the 2024 Graduating class of Carolina University Athletes.
The Bruins lost the 1st and 2nd matchup in the series 5-12, and 6-13. The Bruins came out swinging in the 3rd taking the match from the Eagles 9-6.
Game 1
The Bruins scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 5th, starting with a double by Alejandro Rodriguez. Avery Adams used a pitching error to his advantage and walked to first base. Tanner Bray singled down the left line, earning himself an RBI. With 2 runners on bases, Paxton Tucker offered a sacrifice fly to bring 1 base runner home the score now 3-12. Bryan Deegan earned a double and another RBI for the Bruins, the 5th ended 5-12. No more runs were scored after the 5th.
Game 2
The 2nd game in the series was Saturday at 12 the Blue and Gold started strong offensively. Tallying 5 runs before the top of the 3rd the Bruins finished the 2nd game of the series 6-13.
Game3
The Bruins bested the Screaming Eagles in the final game of the series. Aided by a homerun from Alexiel Delgado, who tallied 4 RBIs in Saturday's final matchup. Tanner Bray earned 3 RBIs with 1 double and 5 POs.
Pitching for the Bruins were Jovany Mendez and Drew Holcombe. Mendez tallied 3 strikeouts in his 6 innings.

The Bruins will be back at home next Tuesday, April 9th, to battle Bluefield State University in a doubleheader at 3:00 PM & 5:00 PM.
