Pikeville, KY- Carolina University Baseball battled on the road during Wednesday's doubleheader against The University of Pikeville BearsĀ
The Bruins lost the first match up in the doubleheader 2-8 but came back fighting in the 2nd. Offensively, the Bruins got off to a quick start, jumping out to a 4-1 lead by the bottom of the 2nd. The Blue and Gold scored 5 runs in the top of the 3rd, creating a dominant lead that the Bears were unable to overcome, resulting in a win for the Bruins by a score of 11-1.Ā
Game 1Ā
The Blue and Gold were able to score 2 runs between the 3rd and 5th inning. In the 3rd Alexiel Delgado tallied an RBI offering up a SAC fly to bring Elias Nurideen back to home plate.Ā
In the 3rd with 3 runners on bases Paxton Tucker earned an RBI bringing Avery Adams home completing the 2nd run for the Bruins
Adam Conrad pitched 4 innings for the Bruins and tallied 5 strikeouts.Ā
Game 2
In the top of the 3rd with bases loaded and the score 5-1, Alexiel Delgado doubled into leftfield earning 2 RBIs. Paxton Tucker singled in the 3rd and tallied 2 RBIs, bringing home the last 2 base runners. The Bruins ended the night 11-1 in 7 innings.Ā
Paxton Tucker had 4 RBIs, Jacob Ananias had 6 POs.
The winning pitcher for the Bruins is Caden Ross who is now 3-0.Ā

The Bruins will be back on the road next Tuesday, April 2nd, to battle the Knights of St. AndrewsĀ University in a 9 inning game at 2:00 PM.
