Hot Streak Continues for Women's Basketball

Winston Salem, NC - Carolina University Women's Basketball (9-5) took on Johnson & Wales University (16-4) in a home match-up. 

The blue and gold put a stop to the Wildcat's three-game win streak tonight, some keys to tonight's win were exceptional offense and relentless defense for the Bruins. Bianca Gonzalez led tonight's offense with 22 points along with tallying 6 rebounds. DenAsia Mitchell had 20 points and 4 steals for the Blue and Gold.

Tonight's match-up was a game of establishing your lead early the Bruins did so by scoring 24 points in the first quarter and Johnson and Wales only scored 12. Maintaining their lead throughout the game helped build Bruin's momentum and they kept that momentum the rest of the game.

Other notable performers from tonight's game are Shantazia Gordon with 14 of the Bruin's 74 total points and Shamya Loman having 10 rebounds and 8 points.

Womens Basketball will be on the road next week as they battle Pfeiffer University at 6 pm on February 7.
