Baseball Steals a Game in Series Opener

Mocksville, NC - Carolina University Baseball hosted Bluefield University on Friday, February 2nd, and Saturday, February 3rd. The teams played in a double-header on Saturday at 1:00 and 3:00 pm. The first game was a challenging start to the day as both teams struggled to score a run in the first three innings. Bluefield scored a run in the fourth inning and again in the seventh, while the Bruins responded with only one run in the sixth. 

The Bruins regrouped and returned with a new energy in the second game. Bluefield started the game with 1 run in the top of the first inning and the Bruins answered by gaining the next 10 runs between the third and sixth innings. Only allowing Bluefield to gain another run in the seventh making the end score 10-2.

Game 1: Ean Laird had 1 home run and two RBIs, and Jase Brooks had a great defensive game with 11 POs.

Game 2: Offensively Deion Tubbs, Alexiel Delgado, Ean Laird, and Bryan Deegan all shared hits for the Blue in gold in the second game of the series. While defensively Jacob Anasias tallied 7 POs and Cade Fletcher had 10 of his own. 

Game 3: The Bruins tallied 9 total hits for their third game in the series, William Darder had three RBIs with 1 run scored on four hits, and three stolen bases.
