Winston-Salem, NC — Carolina University Women's Soccer hosted Warner University this Friday for the NCCAA Regional Tournament Championship. The Bruins fought hard throughout the match but were ultimately unable to overcome the Lions.
The first half saw the Lions take an early lead, with the Bruins trailing 0-1 at the break. Despite the setback, the blue and gold remained hopeful and aimed to even the score after halftime. However, the Lions came out strong in the second half, scoring two quick goals to extend their lead to 0-4.
Ashley Sanchez gave the Bruins a spark, dribbling past the Lions' defense and finding the back of the net unassisted, bringing the score to 1-4. Unfortunately, the Bruins couldn't capitalize on the momentum, and despite their efforts, the Lions sealed the game at 1-4.
This marks the end of the Bruins' 2024 postseason run. Stay connected with Carolina University Women's Soccer by following @CUBruins on Instagram, Facebook, and X for updates.
