Rio Grande, OH — Carolina University Men's Basketball traveled to Ohio this weekend to compete in the Bevo Francis Classic, facing off against the University of Rio Grande and WVU Tech.
On Day 1 of the Bevo Francis Classic, the Bruins battled the RedStorm of Rio Grande in a hard-fought matchup. Unfortunately, Carolina came up short, with the final score ending 67-89. The standout player of the game was graduate student Chris High, who scored an impressive 36 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. High was unstoppable, scoring 20 points in the first half and adding 16 in the second. He was especially lethal from behind the three-point line, going 10-14 and keeping the Bruins in the game throughout.
On Day 2, the Bruins faced the Golden Bears of WVU Tech. Despite a strong effort from the Blue and Gold, they struggled to contain the Bears' scoring runs, ultimately falling 49-73. Dakta Sampson led the Bruins with 13 points and 6 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to overcome WVU Tech's offensive firepower.
Carolina University Men's Basketball will be back in action on Monday night, November 25th, at 7:00 PM, as they face off against North Carolina Central University.
