Spartanburg, SC – The Carolina University men's soccer team faced Spartanburg Methodist for the second time this season, emerging victorious with a 2-1 win in today's matchup.
The first half was quiet, with neither team finding the back of the net. The Blue and Gold showcased strong defensive play, preventing the Pioneers from scoring. Goalkeeper Goshua Wilson made four saves during the match.
In the second half, Carlos Ramirez broke the silence, scoring the first goal with an assist from Alexander Tweddle, bringing the score to 1-0. Shortly after, the Bruins earned a penalty kick, successfully converted by Karell Buitendijk, extending the lead to 2-0. The Pioneers managed to find the net before time ran out, scoring their own goal.
The men's soccer team will return for Senior Night on November 6th at home, starting at 6:00 PM.
