Women's Soccer Faces Tough Opponents On The Road

Indiana - Carolina University Women's Soccer (1-2-1) traveled to Indiana to take on Grace College and Goshen College.

When the Bruins loaded the vans for their first road trip of the season, their goal was simple: to see how they stacked up against quality opponents on the road. Despite the final score in each contest, the team returns to Winston-Salem confident heading into the rest of the season.

In Grace, the Bruins got to face the back-to-back defending National Champions and were able to hold their own in the second half, coming up with a clean sheet in the final 45 minutes. In Goshen, the team faced an undefeated team who proved to be another tough opponent, again taking care of business in the second half.

"It was a good experience for everyone," said Head Coach Boo Tesh. "As a staff we got to see what a two-time defending National Champ looked like as a team. We had an early chance and I think had we finished that it might have been a different story at Grace. We made a couple of adjustments at halftime and were able to hold them scoreless in the second half, which was a big confidence booster. Playing Goshen, we were just tired and a little lackluster in the first half. We showed a little more urgency in the second half when they scored 30 seconds again and we held them scoreless after that. Overall good experience for everyone. We got to see where we want the program to be and I think that helps us a lot going forward."

The Bruins travel to Lynchburg, Virginia on Wednesday, September 6 to take on NCAA Division III opponent Randolph College. You can support the Bruins via live stats and live stream.
