Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Women's Volleyball (5-3) hosted NCCAA South Region opponent Toccoa Falls (8-3) on Friday, September 15.
The Bruins started the first set by taking an 11-0 lead, and that set the tone for the rest of the match. Toccoa Falls kept it a bit closer in the second set, with CU winning 25-22. The Bruins won the first and third sets 25-14.
Kamra King once again led the Bruins' offense, recording 14 assists and a game high 5 aces. SarahElizabeth Samuels had an electric performance, leading the team with 11 kills.
"Today was truly a team effort," said Head Coach Chelsea Jones. " We have been waiting for the pieces to come together and I feel as if today we played like the team we have all been waiting for. It's not only a win in the record books, but also a huge win in seeing what the future holds for this team."
The Bruins travel to Asheville on Tuesday, September 19 to take on Warren Wilson.
