Bermuda Run, NC - Carolina University (0-0-1) hosted Columbia College (0-0-1) in a 1-1 draw at Truist Sports Park.
The Bruins' lone goal scored in the defensive battle was from newcomer Aubrey Sutton in the second minute, who led the way with three shots on goal. Sutton's goal was assisted by Natasha Mariam, whose veteran leadership was felt in the hotly contested match.Â
Leading the way defensively, Kloe Totel played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded five saves in her debut for the Bruins. Columbia College scored their lone goal in the thirty-ninth minute, and both teams had a clean sheet in the second half.Â
"I thought we played well," said Head Coach Boo Tesh. "At times we were really good, other times we were not great, but that's just part of the learning process when you bring in nine new girls. We didn't lose, got to draw, we're getting there."
