Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Women's Basketball (4-4) hosted Toccoa Falls College (10-2) in Williams Gymnasium on Thursday, December 7.
The Bruins jumped ahead to an early lead, but a third quarter comeback by Screaming Eagles set the game up for a dramatic finish. A three pointer by Beyonce Jones forced the game into overtime, with Toccoa Falls ultimately winning 77-76.
Shamya Loman was a force for the Bruins, scoring 19 points with twelve rebounds, four steals, and two assists. DenAsia Mitchell had a near triple-double, scoring 17 points with nine rebounds and eight assists. Bianca Gonzalez and Beyonce Jones both scored eleven points, with Azaria Landry adding ten points.
The Lady Bruins have two road contests this weekend, traveling to NCCAA South Region rival Paine College on Saturday, December 9, before taking on NCAA Division I opponent Winthrop University in an exhibition on Sunday, December 10.
