Claybourne's Huge Night Leads Bruins to Home Win

Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Men's Basketball (2-7) hosted Toccoa Falls College in Williams Gymnasium on Thursday, December 7.

The Bruins jumped ahead to a 47-39 point lead in the first half, however Toccoa Falls jumped back in the game with a 51-point second half. Clutch free throws late in the second half by Ethan Bell and Luka Suster cemented the win for the Bruins.

Adam Claybourne was dominant for the Bruins, scoring 27 points with 16 rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block. Jayden Jackson had a near double-double of his own, recording 17 points and nine rebounds. Cameron Parker was a stabilizing force on the court, scoring a crucial eleven points with six assists and six rebounds.

"I'm incredibly proud of our guys," said Head Coach Jacob Heck. "Obviously it's been a tough start to the season but we have great young men that stick together and keep working hard. We clearly had some guys with huge statlines, but everyone contributed in a big way. Very proud of the guys who had to step into bigger roles due to injuries and really helped us win."

The Bruins head to Charlotte to take on NCAA DI Queens University of Charlotte in an exhibition on Saturday, December 9, before traveling to Florida to play a pair of NCCAA South Region opponents (University of Fort Lauderdale and Warner University).
