Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Men's Basketball (1-3) hosted Mid-Atlantic Christian University (0-1) on Saturday, November 4.
The Bruins had a flair for the dramatic in the 97-91 comeback win in Williams Gymnasium, thanks to a handful of clutch plays by the closing group of Ethan Bell, Cameron Parker, Adam Claybourne, Caden Fitzgibbons, and Jayden Jackson. The game saw fourteen different players receive playing time for the Bruins in the high scoring contest.
Bell and Parker led the team in scoring with 22 and 20 points, respectively. Claybourne and Jackson led the team in rebounds with 7 and 6, respectively, and all of them came when the team needed them the most.
"I'm really proud of how this team stuck together," said Head Coach Jacob Heck. "Often after a tough loss like we had on Wednesday teams can point fingers, but it brought our guys closer together. They all put winning first and made the plays for each other when it mattered most."
The Bruins travel to Kentucky to take on Alice Lloyd College on Tuesday, November 7 at 6:00pm.
