Men's Basketball Coasts to Victory

Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Men's Basketball hosted Virginia University of Lynchburg for the second time this season and was in search of their fourth straight win. VUL kept up for a few minutes to start the game but the Bruins hit a stride with a 14-4 run after breaking the tie of 8-8, taking the score to 22-12. CU got up to a 17 point lead at one time and finished the half at 42-28. The Bruins stayed in control and kept the Dragons at a distance, maintaining a lead of at least 10 points in the second half. CU coasted to a 27 point advantage with only a couple of minutes left in the game at 92-65. Carolina U was able to finish with a score of 94-73. 

The team displayed a well-balanced offense in this game and showcased their depth against the Dragons. Freshman Cameron Parker led all scorers with 17 points and had 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Five other Bruins scored in double figures, including, D'Shun Edwards, Micah Cooper, Grady Boyce, Luka Suster, and Amarie Elijah-Kirby. Boyce had a great night with a career high of 13 points. 

Carolina University will play two exhibition games in the next week against King University and Limestone University. They will play against Paine College on Saturday, January, 28th at 4:00 pm. The South Region NCCAA opponent is currently 5-11 on the season. LiveStats and LiveStream will be available for the coming games.
