Kissimmee, FL - Carolina University Men's Soccer competed in the first match in pool play at the NCCAA National Tournament on November 28th. The Bruins faced #2 Cedarville University from Cedarville, Ohio who were 12-8-2 on the season. The match was aggressive from the start, as both teams traded fouls and attempts to score. Carolina U made the first score of the match at 31:57 and this turned out to be the game-winning goal. The second half was a continuation of efforts made to score. The Yellow Jackets recorded 12 shots, only 2 on goal as the Bruins defense held them off. Carolina University finished the match with a final score of 1-0.Â
Jordan Julien scored the winning goal for CU with an assist from Luke Spillane-Davis. William Cothill played 90 minutes as goalie and recorded 2 saves for the Bruins.Â
The Carolina Bruins earned their first victory at the NCCAA Nationals in Program History. They will go on to play in the next match on November 29th against Campbellsville University.
