Winston-Salem, NC - Carolina University Women's Volleyball hosted Montreat College on Tuesday, October 18th at 6:30 pm. In this home match, the Bruins were honoring Breast Cancer with a Dig Pink theme. CU took the lead in the first set and soon led 2-0 in the match. The Cavaliers came back in the third set with a 25-16 win. The Bruins regrouped between sets and were energized by the great home crowd. This burst allowed them to win the fourth set 25-20, and take the match with a final score of 3-1.
The Bruins had a strong night statistically as they had some of their key players back on the court. Giulia La Longa recorded a match-high 23 kills and had 2 aces, 9 digs and 4.0 blocks. Kamra King had match-high's 35 assists and 15 digs. Rebecca Walker also had a good night and recorded 14 digs.
Carolina University is now 18-7 on the season. They will be on the road in Charlotte to play at Johnson and Wales University on Saturday, October 21st at 7:00 pm. Johnson and Wales is 12-16 on the season and lost to CU on October 10th in a tri-match. LiveStream will be available for the upcoming match.
