WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Carolina University Women's Soccer Team hosted West Virginia University Tech on Wednesday, August 25th. This game was the home and season opener for the Bruins, but unfortunately it was spoiled. Just over 6 minutes into the game, the Golden Bears were able to take the 1-0 lead. As CU was finding its footing, a weather delay caused a stoppage. When the game was able to resume, both teams traded runs but there were very few threats. WVU Tech scored another goal in the 56th minute and would hang on to earn the 2-0 victory.Â
The Bruins (0-1) will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Columbia, SC to take on the Rams of CIU (1-0). This is a regional contest as both Columbia International University and Carolina University compete in the NCCAA D1 South Region. These two teams haven't crossed paths since 2018, but it will be a very important game looking ahead to the NCCAA South Regional Tournament at the conclusion of the season. Bruins fans will be able to follow along with the action via
