WINSTON-SALEM, NC -- The Carolina University Men's Basketball Team hosted Montreat College on Monday, December 13th. The Bruins were looking to continue their 4 game winning streak, but it would be tough against a strong AAC opponent in Montreat. The two teams traded baskets through much of the first half, with neither team leading by more than 4 until the 16th minute of play. The Bruins finished the first half strong and closed with a 9 point lead. The Bruins came out of the locker room energized, and extended their lead over the Cavaliers to as many as 18 points in the middle of the second half. The game ended with a score of 83-78, as CU earned an important win at home. 

Micah Cooper and Kester Ofoegbu led the Bruins in their respective areas. Cooper ended with 20 points and 11 rebounds finishing out with his fifth double-double on the season. Ofoebgu was just 3 assists away from his first triple double, ending the game with 13 points, an impressive 18 rebounds, 7 assists, and his ninth double double of the season. An additional solid contribution also came from Ethan Brook shooting 80% to conclude the game. 

The Carolina University Bruins improve to a 10-4 overall record with the win. The Bruins will travel to Farmville, VA, on Tuesday, December 14th, to play an exhibition against NCAA DI Longwood University before returning home for a long break through the new year. Tip off is at 7 PM.
