WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Lady Bruins basketball team earned their 14th win of the season and their trip to the NCCAA South Regional Tournament with Monday's (Feb. 3) win over Bluefield College, 70-52.

After getting down 9-2 within the first five minutes, Piedmont went on a 16 point run to capture the lead. Two three-pointers from LeOnzerrae Grubbs closed out the half 38-19.

In the second half, the Bruins would continue their frontcourt pressure. PIU had its largest lead of 29 points with two and a half minutes left in the third quarter.

The Bruins had three players in double-digits: Lexius Houzer with 17, Malayah Montgomery with 12, and Grubbs 11 points. Alysia McLeod registered 12 rebounds.

PIU will be back at home on Thursday, February 6, when they face Johnson & Wales University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM.
