Winston-Salem, NC -- Piedmont International University hosted Pfeiffer University on April 17th in a midweek doubleheader. The Bruins couldn't come back in an 8-0 and 22-4 loss on Thursday.
Pfeiffer University's pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs while striking out four.
Ralee McGee was in the pitcher's circle for Piedmont. She went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on five hits and striking out one.
Desiree Torres threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Missy Smith, Bullard, and
Savannah Presley each collected one hit each.
In the second game, the Bruins got things started in the first inning when
Mckenzie Mastin doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. In the top of the third inning, Pfeiffer University tied things up at four. Pfeiffer hit a single and scored two more runs.
Smith started the game for PIU, surrendering 19 runs on 15 hits over three and two-thirds innings.
Desiree Torres threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen.
Piedmont tallied ten hits on the day.
Kayli Cook and Smith each recorded two hits apiece.
The Bruins will hit the road for their final game of the regular season against West Virginia Tech.
