BLUEFIELD, VA - Piedmont women's basketball team's late fourth-quarter rally was not enough as they fell in the final seconds to Bluefield College on Monday (Dec. 16) by a score of 61-60.
During the back-and-forth battle, there were eight lead changes between the Rams and the Bruins. In the final quarter,
Alysia McLeod tied up the score at 59 with two good free throws. A personal foul on the Bruins would send the Rams to the line, take the lead, and capture the game.
Mychala Wolfe was the top scorer for PIU with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Brianna Best and
Malayah Montgomery also scored in double digits with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Lexius Houzer and McLeod led the Bruins defense with six rebounds each.
Piedmont will travel to the Apprentice School this upcoming Thursday (Dec. 19) for a 6 PM match up.
