MARIETTA, GA - The Piedmont International University men's basketball team was unable to mount a comeback in a 60-64 loss to Life University Friday (Nov. 15).
Kendall Oliver got the scoring started for the Bruins, hitting a layup five minutes and thirty-two seconds. The teams would trade buckets early in the game but Life continued to hold the lead. Piedmont went into the half, 18-31.
At the start of the second, PIU was able to get control of the ball and close the gap in the score. Oliver hit two 3-point shots and a layup in the paint while
Tamir Glenn scored four free throws.
With six minutes left on the clock, the Bruins would take their first lead of the game.
Curtis Coleman Jr. registered a 3-point shot to push Piedmont 45-44.
Tied at 59 with a minute left on the clock, Life would go on a scoring run, winning the game 64-60.
Oliver led the Bruins with 17 points while teammate Glenn added 15 points and grabbed a team-high 14 rebounds.
Jacob Cook also recorded 15 points.
PIU will return to action tomorrow afternoon (Nov. 16) as they take on Dalton State. Tipoff scheduled for 2 PM.
