Women's Soccer Drops Match to Salem College, 2-1

Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Piedmont International University women's soccer team fell to Salem College in action on Thursday (Oct. 17) to a score of 2-1.

PIU secured the first goal of the game when Ashli Mincey and Katelynn Goodman connected with Kelsie Ramirez at the 50-minute mark. The Spirits would then go on to score a goal of their own in the 55th minute off a penalty kick. The Bruins continued their strong defensive effort by surrendering only a single goal in the 69th minute to keep the final score at a very respectable 2-1 margin.

PIU registered five shots on goals to the Spirits 15 shots. Ericka Washburn recorded a season-high of 13 saves on the night.

Piedmont will be back in action for a weekend matchup on Saturday (0ct. 19) at Johnson & Wales University with kickoff time slated for 7:00 PM.
