WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Piedmont International hosted their first tri-match of the season against Regent University and Bob Jones University on Saturday. They split winning the first match 3-1 against Regent before falling 3-0 to Bob Jones.

Game 1: Regent vs. Piedmont

Piedmont shut down the Royals 25-22, 25-15, 21-25, and 25-22 while leading Regent in five categories: points, kills, aces, assists, and digs.

The Bruins outhit the Royals .136 to.033, recording 39 kills.
Virgillia Jones led the team with 11 kills, followed by
Olivia Bullard with ten and Kaylee Bullard with eight.
Chelsea Edwards recorded 31 assists in the match.Â

Piedmont stayed aggressive at the back line, registering a total of 20 aces to Regent's nine. Barriage served seven aces while
Cameron Dubuc added six of her own.

PIU stayed gritty in the back row picking up 41 digs in the match, Bullard with 12 digs and Dubuc with ten digs.

Game 2: Bob Jones vs. Piedmont
Â
In the second match of the day, Piedmont couldn't keep up with the offense of Bob Jones University, falling 12-25, 18-25, and 16-25.

Bob Jones hit a .231 verse PIU's -.032. The team recorded a total of 33 kills, Bullard registering 19 of those.Â

The Bruins will be back home next Thursday as they take on Ferrum College at 7 PM.
