Winston-Salem, NC -- After losing by 1 point at Voorhees College back in November, the Lady Bruins (5-8) refused to let that happen in their house. The closely matched game came down to the final second as the Bruins pulled off an 81-80 victory over the Lady Tigers.
The game went back and forth between teams. "There was a lot of exchanging of baskets, turnover for turnover, point for point," shared
Toccara Tatum. "It was very stressful, but we came out on top." The Bruins largest lead against the Lady Tigers was just 10 points in the second quarter.
It ultimately came down to the final 1.8 seconds after a foul was called against
Alysia McLeod, 81-79. Voorhees College's Jessica Gaston went to the line. The first free throw was good, bringing the game to 81-80. Gaston's second shot bounced off the rim, McLeod wnt up for the rebound, clock buzzing at the final score.
