Winston-Salem, NC— PIU's men's basketball team took on Virginia State University, a NCAA DII program, Monday evening. The Bruins fought hard but ultimately fell to the Trojans, 67-95.
VSU came out and established a lead on the scoreboard early in the half. The Bruins tried to catch up to the Trojans but trailed VSU for the entirety of the game. In the end, the Trojan's offensive height was no match for the Bruins.
Tamir Glenn lead the team with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Colton Bishop and Curtis Coleman Jr. added 13 and 12 points respectively.
The Bruins made 17 of their 21 free throws to mark an 81% accuracy on the line versus the Trojans 61.5%.
The Bruins will be back at home this Saturday evening as both JV and varsity take on Moravian Prep at 5:30 and 7:30 PM.
