Winston-Salem, NC — The Piedmont International University women's soccer team dropped their match against the visiting team of Shaw University, 5-2, on Monday evening. 

The Navy and White fell behind in the 35th minute. Ashli Mincey responded with a goal just four minutes later to put the Bruins on the board. 

Entering the second half 1-1, the Bears pushed ahead scoring two goals within a couple minutes of play. Kelsie Simpson found a goal of her own in the 70th minute to put the score, 2-4. Shaw added one more goal to finish out the match.

Mincey had the team high of two shots on goal, while Simpson, Cierra Josey, and Katelyn Goodman had a shot apiece. In goal, Citlally Jasso collected 3 goals. After Jasso left the field due to injury, Ericka Washburn recorded 3 saves.

The Bruins will be back in action on Wednesday as they take on Johnson & Wales University at 6:00 PM.
