Winston-Salem, NC – The Lady Bruins are finally back home at Pope Center after two consecutive weeks on the road. PIU won the match against Columbia College [SC] (0-3) in straight sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-21, to go up 9-2 for the season.
Olivia Bullard led the team with 18 kills with an astounding .515 hitting percentage. Bullard added 10 digs for another double-double night capturing the Player of the Game for PIU. Freshmen McKenzie Mastin and
Kelsey McKinley rounded up the offense, hitting 0.316 for the match, with 7 kills and 5 kills, respectively.
Hannah Carter dished out 25 assists and
Chelsea Edwards added 14 assists.
Cameron Dubuc recorded 18 digs for the match as she continues her series of double digit digs on a nightly basis.
Daylin Schweizer helped out in the defensive end collecting 7 digs.
Virgillia Jones recorded 4 blocks in the match as PIU's defensive presence held Columbia's hitting percentage in the negative.
The Lady Bruins will continue its home stand, hosting Appalachian Bible College on Tuesday, September 11th. The match is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM.
