Winston-Salem, NC – The Carolina University Men's Basketball 2024-2025 season kicks off tonight with an away matchup against Campbellsville University. The Blue and Gold are looking to bounce back after an 8-16 season under Head Coach Jake Heck, who is in his third tenure as head coach of the Bruins.
This season, the Bruins are welcoming several new faces to both the team and coaching staff. Dylan Hay returns to his assistant coaching position, joined by new staff members Isaac Schlegel and Trevor Kingma, creating an experienced coaching lineup.
Some familiar faces to watch this season include Adam Claybourne, who returns for his senior year. Claybourne was a key asset for the Bruins last season, tallying 213 points and averaging 11 points per game during his junior year. He is poised to make a significant impact this season.
The Bruins will face a rigorous travel schedule this season, which includes a challenging slate of games. Notable matchups to watch include the games against Regent, where the Bruins went 2-0 last year in two closely contested games. Additionally, their encounters with Toccoa Falls College, where they split last season with one win and one loss—losing at home and winning away—promise to be thrilling matchups. Be sure to come out and support your Bruins!
